The Passion, Aptitude, and Discipline (PAD) Program is a youth life-skills initiative from TIGA that blends sport context with culture and leadership—delivered as education-only, off-ice sessions. First launched with the Capreol Minor Hockey Association (CMHA), PAD focuses on practical, plain-language learning—goal-setting, hydration and sleep routines, injury-prevention education, and positive team culture.
(Any on-ice activities, if pursued, are scheduled and delivered by CMHA hockey officials outside TIGA’s charitable programming.)
Rooted in Indigenous values and welcoming of Francophone youth, PAD helps create safer, more empowering spaces where young people can thrive off the ice and bring those skills back to their teams and communities. It offers a practical model Northern Ontario associations can adapt to strengthen youth through education, culture, and community connection.
